Don’t worry; you don’t have to hibernate until spring to avoid these cold weather issues. Give your skin some good ole TLC, and you’ll be right as rain come spring. Here are a few tips to keep your skin oh-so-soft this winter: Olive Oil pouring over a spoonMoisturize: Invest in a good lotion with olive oil to keep hands and cuticles soft. You can even buy special oil made for cuticles. Leave it on overnight for an extra boost. Shorten and protect: The bad part about long nails is they tend to break more often than shorter ones, especially in colder climates. You might want to try an emery board to keep them neat and even. Follow it with a coat of protective polish chock-full of vitamins A and C. Moderation is key: Warm water and chemicals can really wreak havoc on your hands. If you’re doing dishes, consider wearing gloves to protect your hands. Keep hot showers to a reasonable length. Avoid using acetone nail polish removers. Instead, opt for a nail-friendly one that is acetone free. Your skin and nails will thank you. Take your vitamins: Supplements can help fill in the gaps where your diet falls short.
