Working out while pregnant: tips to say in shape

It’s safe to say that most women don’t look or feel like their best during pregnancy, especially during the third trimester. As your body grows, it becomes harder and harder to account for the extra weight – and changing body proportions! However, by staying physically active you can actually make the birthing process much easier.

To take part in safe yet effective exercises, check out these simple exercises. (Remember, you should always talk to your doctor first to make sure you’re approved for activity.)

  • Go on daily walks. Regular movement is a great way to keep the blood flowing! The length and intensity is up to you – but be sure to listen to your body to avoid overdoing it.
  • Sign up for a pregnancy-friendly aerobics class.
  • Stretch at home to keep muscles limber and increase blood flow.
  • Attend water aerobics. The water helps alleviate your belly weight, giving pregnant women a much-needed break from their front-heavy bodies.
  •  Ride a stationary bike.

These exercises are fairly simple, but allow birthmothers to keep their growing bodies in tip-top shape. And for more info, be sure to talk to your doctor or birthing center about staying fit during pregnancy!
