If you have a young child, you can save some money by making your own toy. And if you’re looking for something to jazz up your home, block letters can be a nice addition. We suggest spelling out a word, like family or love. OK, we won’t leave you hanging. Here’s how it’s done:
1. Purchase an unfinished 2 x 4 piece of wood from a home improvement store for as little as $2.00
2. Cut your wood into desired heights. If you plan to arrange them to form a word, you might want to vary the sizes to add some character.
3. Sand your wood.
4. Stain or paint your wood.
5. While your wood is drying, choose the scrapbook paper for
your blocks.
6. Once blocks are completely dry, sand the edges a bit to give them a worn, distressed edge.
7. Use a product like Mod Podge to glue your scrapbook paper onto your blocks.
8. Last, put your vinyl letters on each block. You can even add some charm with ribbon, buttons, etc.
