Tips for staying focused with dōTERRA essential oils

The world runs at a fast and frantic pace. Staying focused and balanced under stress often proves to be no easy task. Fortunately, there are a number of dōTERRA essential oils that enhance concentration and clarity.

What about when doing homework with the kids? Have you found it a challenge to keep them focused? Or, have you ever found your mind wandering when reading or trying to concentrate? Give these essential oils a try and you will notice a difference.

Peppermint

Peppermint is amazing! In one study, the aroma of peppermint was found to enhance memory, increase alertness and impact human behavior.

Peppermint oil also activates the limbic function in your brain, which is related to the olfactory structures in your nose. It moderates strong emotions, and enhances long-term memory.

For a “homework helper,” diffuse peppermint, wild orange, or rosemary, which boosts mental focus and concentration. Or, if you need a quick pick-me-up in concentration, spritz a small amount of peppermint on your shirt, rub the oil behind your ear lobes, or put a few drops into a glass of water.

InTune Blend

This amazing formulation is quite remarkable. It’s comprised of a proprietary blend of essential oils carefully selected to enhance the ability to focus and support healthy thought processes. It helps those who have difficulty paying attention to stay on task.

The carefully selected essential oils in dōTERRA’s InTune Focus Blend increase the ability to stay calm and focused on a desired task. Sandalwood, Frankincense, and Lime essential oils contribute to clarity and focus, while the benefits of Amryis, Patchouli, Ylang Ylang and Roman Chamomile are calming and soothing.

Here’s how to get the most from an application of essential oils. For frustration, impatience, and anger, use oils and blends that create a sense of calm:  Balance, Serenity, Frankincense, Lavender, and Ylang Ylang. Applying the oil to the feet, back of the neck, behind the knees, and through diffusion are all excellent ways to benefit from essential oils.

For improved concentration, consider using the essential oil Vetiver. Again, apply the oil on the feet. If you have school-aged children that are struggling with an inability to concentrate at school, place a necklace with a pendant that contains the oil around your child’s neck. That way, it will be available throughout the school day.

Take a look at this homemade recipe submitted by a reader, who said it worked quite well for her three children.
