So, you think you’ve found “the one.” You’re young, but you want to settle down. Before you take that all-important walk down the aisle, make sure to ask yourself the following questions to avoid heartache down the road.
1. Do you really love him or her? Or do you just love the idea of getting married?
2. Do you love him or her just as he/she is? (Because you’re not going to be able to change the person).
3. Do you know what his or her financial situation is?
4. Do you know if he or she wants children or not?
5. Are you able to stand on your own two feet? Or do you NEED to lean on this person?
6. Do you know what turns him or her on in bed?
7. Do you know whether you want to keep your name or change it?
8. Do you know why his or her previous relationships didn’t work out?
9. Do you know that it’s OK to fight and that it’s OK to fight fairly?
10. Do you both know how to manage money?
11. Do you know where you and your partner want to be in five, 10 and 20 years?
