Success starts with skills, training and guidance

Good, hardworking people sometimes need a little guidance to set new goals and make the changes that will lead to success.

Raul_Pereira

Raul Pereira of Leon, Nicaragua, was working as a carpenter’s assistant but wasn’t earning enough to support himself or set aside the savings he needed as a safety net. Although Pereira had plied his trade for several years, he wasn’t making much progress toward improving his quality of life. Pereira had also studied accounting and computers. He already had the intelligence and professional skills – all Pereira needed was the right kind of guidance and support to make the changes that would set him on the path to success.

Cause for Hope is dedicated to helping people like Raul Periera. Our staff provides training, personalized mentoring, and programs that support people who are working to become self-reliant. We provide job placement programs and English language classes for people like Pereira in order to help them find new opportunities to be successful.

We were able to help Pereira by providing career workshop classes that taught important job-seeking skills. He was able to improve his resume and establish good contacts. Cause for Hope was also pleased to provide networking contacts to set up interviews and stuck with him until he was about to land a job.

Now, Pereira has been hired to work as a professional accountant for a products distribution company in his community. Just by helping him to use the skills he already had, Pereira has been able to increase his monthly earnings from $60 to $200. Pereira is also able to set aside savings each month, something he wasn’t able to accomplish before.
