Sources of Strength

Strength: it is something we all struggle with from time to time. Feeling strong one minute only to be knocked down the next. Then there are the weak moments where you feel so depleted you are unable to summon any strength at all.

Much like our other emotions, feelings of strength can waiver. But it’s important to remember that in times of weakness, sources of strength can be found all around us. Consider these words of wisdom and remember to stay strong.

Sometimes STRENGTH comes from struggle.

“Where there is no struggle there is not strength.” Oprah Winfrey

“My pain today will be my strength tomorrow. “ Anonymous

“When something bad happens you have three choices. You can either let it define you. Let it destroy you. Or you can let it strengthen you.” Anonymous

Sometimes strength comes from love.

“When there is love and inspiration there is strength.” Anonymous

“To love someone deeply gives you strength. Being loved by someone deeply gives you courage.”
Lao Tzu

“Hatred is displayed by the weak but strength is shown through love.”
Anonymous

Sometimes strength comes from perseverance.

“Fall seven times, get up eight.”
Anonymous

“Endurance is one of the most difficult disciplines, but it is to the one who endures that the final victory comes.”
Buddha

“Mental will is muscle that needs exercise, just like the muscles of the body.”
Lynn Jennings

Sometimes strength comes from humor.

“Strength is the ability to break a chocolate bar into four pieces with your bare hands – and then eat just one of those pieces.”
Judith Viorst

“You can’t really be strong until you see a funny side to things.”
Ken Kesey

Whether you develop strength from struggle, receive strength from love, gain strength through perseverance or gather strength from humor, know that you are STRONG.
