When it comes to pregnancy, there are thousands and thousands of books available that will help teach birthmothers what to expect. There are those that explain nutrition, bodily changes, clothing advice, and the cult-classic made movie, What to Expect, which includes all of the above.
And that’s just touching the surface. But with so many resources available with today’s technology, should you invest in these books?
Depending on the type of information you’re looking for, it may just be available online, and for free. There are a number of websites, eBooks, and blogs that all offer pregnancy advice from those who have been there themselves.
As for those who prefer actual paper copies, the library offers plenty of informational books available for check out. Magazines can be found in your doctor’s waiting room, and you may even have a friend or two with resources on their hands.
While these books aren’t a bad investment, it’s likely the same information can be found elsewhere, and without shelling out any dough. Unless you’re looking for long-term advice or just prefer the feel of a brand new book (that you can take notes in), the funds may just be better spent elsewhere.
