It’s going to be a cross-over year in Salt Lake County.
If you don’t believe it, ask former U.S. Sen. Bob Bennett. Or Sandy Mayor Tom Dolan. Or Taylorsville Mayor Russ Wall. Those Republicans – plus many more – will be crossing over the ballot this November to re-elect me to the Salt Lake County Council.
Why?
Because most of what happens in county government is not partisan. My success as a Salt Lake County Councilman has come because of my proven ability to work with all of my colleagues to find solutions to the issues facing Salt Lake County. My ability to reach across the aisle is precisely why some of my retired Republican council colleagues – plus many city mayors – have endorsed my re-election bid.
As we march ever closer to Election Day, I’d like to give you a sample of the prominent people who are supporting my candidacy:

“I’ve known Jim Bradley for years. Although we don’t always agree on everything, I know him to be a man of integrity. This Republican is voting for Jim Bradley in 2012. Please join me.” - Bob Bennett, Former U.S. Senator
“Councilman Jim Bradley does what he thinks is best, regardless of what others might say. He has strong beliefs and will stick to them even when they aren’t popular. Salt Lake County needs an elected official like Jim Bradley who is willing to put good public policy before politics.” – Peter Corroon, Salt Lake County Mayor
“Salt Lake County Councilman Jim Bradley and I have worked together tirelessly to develop the Unified Police Department. Through this process, I have learned that Jim is a man of integrity and a statesman. I have also witnessed firsthand that as a countywide representative, he truly spends much of his time working on issues that directly impact the lives of citizens in the southwest areas of Salt Lake County. This Republican mayor is voting for Jim Bradley in 2012. Please join me.” – Riverton Mayor Bill Applegarth.
“What we need is an elected official who will continue to find ways to make good things happen for the residents of Murray City and Salt Lake County. Jim Bradley has been an advocate for Murray, demonstrating both cooperation and leadership through his involvement at Wheeler Farm and the County Ice Arena. I have found Jim Bradley to be a creative, capable leader who is willing to come to the table of progress and make decisions that benefit the county as a whole. This mayor will be voting for Jim Bradley in 2012. Please join me!” – Mayor Dan Snarr, Murray City
“Councilman Jim Bradley is a rare breed. He is an elected official who is willing to take a controversial stand and continue to support it in the face of opposition. He advocates for the right position, not necessarily the easy position. This sheriff will be voting for Jim Bradley in 2012. Please join me.” - Salt Lake County Sheriff Jim Winder
“As someone whose professional passion is improving the criminal justice system in Utah, I believe Jim Bradley has been an invaluable partner in making our system more responsive to the changing needs of our County. Jim can always be counted on to think outside the box in finding effective solutions to the challenges that face all areas of our criminal justice system. Jim’s unwavering support of law enforcement, innovative treatment options and alternatives to
incarceration speaks volumes about his committment to the wise and efficient use of taxpayer dollars. I am proud to support Jim Bradley for Salt Lake County Council and on November 6th, I urge you to join me in casting your vote for Jim!”– Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill
“Jim Bradley has proven himself an effective leader on the Salt Lake County Council. When it comes to governance, he is fiscally responsible and fair. He is a deliberate thinker, a great communicator and a friend to the taxpayer. This Republican mayor will be voting for Jim Bradley in 2012. Please join me.” – Holladay Mayor Dennis Webb
“No one has shown a greater commitment to Salt Lake County for a longer period of time than Jim Bradley. He has demonstrated a willingness to pursue new ideas, such as urban agriculture, that have made this community a better place. Jim Bradley asks the right questions, and makes the right decisions, to ensure that Salt Lake County is servicing the people who reside there in ways that benefit them short-term and long-term. This mayor will be voting for Jim Bradley in 2012. Please join me.” - Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker

“Jim Bradley truly represents all of the people in Salt Lake County: Cities, townships and unincorporated areas. He sees Salt Lake County as representing all of us.” – Midvale Mayor JoAnn Seghini
“Jim Bradley can count on my support. We may not agree on everything, but Jim Bradley is a straight-up guy who will tell you exactly what is on his mind. I admire that. We need more people like him in office who will do things and say things to benefit the people they serve, rather than do things and say things to get re-elected.” – Taylorsville Mayor Russ Wall
