Ready for some chi?

Pool spa pergola precision pools (800x600)There’s a reason why, if you go to YouTube, you’ll find dozens of serene recordings, some lasting hours, of a babbling brook. Water soothes the soul. And there are ways, say proponents of feng shui, that you can channel some of that positive energy into your new Precision pool.

Even if you aren’t so sure a rounded corner or a well-placed plant can bring you tremendous wealth, these common-sense tips can go far in creating a welcoming oasis. Feng shui is all about positive ‘chi’ energy and how it flows. There are plenty of elements in this age-old Chinese practice that are completely down-to-earth and can help you create your dream paradise right at home. Here are a few to consider as you meet with our team:

Keep pool size and location in mind. In designing your Precision pool, choose a size that’s in proportion to your house and yard. You’ll also want to place it off to the side of the house – according to feng shui, your pool shouldn’t be visible from the front door but rather near the back door. Remember to leave some breathing space between the pool and side of the home as well to keep the flow of chi in balance.

Select curved shapes. For maximum harmonious vibes, choose a kidney-shaped pool placed so that it cradles your house in the curve. Round or oval pools work as well. If your heart is set on a rectangular pool, soften the hard edges with well-placed plants. If you add a spa, connect it in some way to the pool, such as in our pool-and-spa combos. And keep the water clean! A dirty pool or spa swarming with mosquitoes is a definite downer.

Work in natural elements. And now we come to the finishing touches. Try to work the other elements of feng shui – metal, wood, earth and fire – into your landscape with our variety of water features. A metal fence, a wood pergola, a stone walkway and a welcoming fire pit bring a perfect balance to your backyard destination. A good filter will keep the water moving, a must in generating the most positive energy. Or you can install a fountain or waterfall, adding the sound of rushing water to your poolscape.
