QUESTION: What is the most important issue your electoral position faces? How would you resolve this issue?
JIM BRADLEY: Today’s fiscal reality demands that local leaders find new and innovative ways to provide quality services while holding down costs. This is our challenge. I will continue to seek solutions such as the collaborative municipal service models I have helped develop over the past few years. These models stretch administrative dollars without compromising on-the-street services.
As a small business owner, I also know that the County needs to keep an eye on maintaining a business environment that allows small businesses and business districts to thrive, while attracting new businesses to locate in the Salt Lake valley. Business growth will not occur if local officials allow crumbling public infrastructure, a lackluster commitment to quality of life, and mediocre education. The Salt Lake valley is presently a great place to live, work, play and raise a family. We need to keep it that way.
As a lifelong resident, I have thoroughly enjoyed serving on the Salt Lake County Council. The balance I offer the Council has been critical over the past few years and will be essential as Salt Lake County moves forward.
