What does it take to escape the cycle of poverty? Our mission at Cause for Hope is to enable people in developing countries to become self-reliant and improve their lives. We believe that the steps to end the cycle of poverty are the same for everyone around the world!

A recent article published in the Deseret News gave a report on a study conducted by the Pew Economic Mobility Project. Researchers found critical factors that make a difference for anyone trying to move up the socioeconomic ladder to a better life. The study looked at American households, and found some important indicators that a person will be in a position to move out of poverty. Those factors include:
- Higher education levels
- Strong family ties, with more than one person in the home earning an income
- Consistent work history and employment
- Individual dedication to building up savings
- A commitment to creating and sticking to a budget
All of these factors are important for anyone seeking to build their financial future. We also believe that it takes strong relationships with mentors and support, personal accountability and the ability to set long-term goals.
At Cause for Hope, we work to help people who have experienced generational poverty in more than six Latin American countries by teaching the most effective life skills to break the cycle. We’ve been serving people for more than a decade, and have found a method with proven success.
Cause for Hope offers participants training programs and consistent mentoring to help families achieve their goals. We know our programs have helped many families become successful due to the ongoing relationships we’ve built.
We’d like to share the stories of these families. You can read the inspiring story of the Matamoros family here. They were able to triple their earnings and savings each month since participating in our programs. And the Matamoros family is just one example! We’d like to invite you to learn more about Cause for Hope – and how you can help us to transform lives!
