How well do you know your Facebook friends? Are you on a first-name basis with all of them? Or do you pass some without saying hello? One man, driven by the possibilities of a unique social experiment, has set out to have coffee with each of his online friends – a total of 1,088 acquaintances.
Since September of this year, Matt Kuleza, who hails from Australia, has been meeting with his Facebook friends in various coffee shops. Though he has yet to make his meet ups in the triple digits, his goal for the entire project is listed at three years.
Coffee, he said, acts as a simple way to get to know someone (and in a socially acceptable setting), but doesn’t create the same issues as drinking alcohol, which can impair judgment. He’s even documenting the events with photos and drawings – all of which can be found on his Tumblr account.
