Kohl’s donates hefty funds toward field trips

field tripFolks have been donating money toward helping to fund school trips for decades. Not only is it a way to give back to the community, it allows adults to literally invest in the future of new generations. However, this year department store Kohl’s went above and beyond when they donated a whopping $1.5 million toward field trips for Milwaukee-area schools.

Kohl’s spokespeople say the donation was intended to provide the opportunity for thousands of kids to experience travel, museums, and a day of educational fun. It’s also one of the largest public school field trip donations received to date. And as the second year in what the company says will be an annual event, it seems as though the Kohl’s Cares grant program is off to a good start. In fact, they’ve doubled their donations from the past year alone.

However, for now it seems the donations are only open to Milwaukee-area schools. To apply for travel grants for your school, talk to local authorities about similar programs and school-based grants.
