Flower therapy remains a growing trend

In New York state, one nursing home is taking a different approach with flowers. Rather than receive or give pre-made arrangements, the patients help design floral arrangements themselves. Known as “flower therapy,” residents are able to create a personalized craft from the ground up.

You might even say flower therapy is ‘growing’ in popularity, mainly because those involved have said it’s an extremely beneficial program. The seniors get to work with beautiful greenery and are making something productive in the process. Their artwork can then be displayed for others to see, or shared with friends and family members.

As for those unable to participate, they too see benefits in camaraderie and exposure to all types of plants. Due to its success rate program organizers predict that flower therapy is here to stay.
