Did you know that Lt. Col. William ‘Hoot’ Gibson was the first person to land a B-17 at Hill Field? Gibson happened to be flying the B-17 from Salt Lake City and took the opportunity to land when the runway was opened. Gibson was also instrumental in establishing the museum.
