There’s so much to consider when you’re building and decorating a home. But you don’t have to let the task of designing the perfect home interior overwhelm you. Or hurt you in the pocketbook.

- Go large with architectural moulding. The key to achieving that palatial feel to your home interior is bulky trim. To get the effect on the cheap, simply install a thin piece of trim below your existing crown moulding. Paint the drywall area in-between the same color and finish as the trim, and you’re done.
- Invest in oversized throw pillows. Find some massive, 24-inch throw pillows to replace smaller ones on your couch. Large sofa pillows give a stylish, high-end appearance to a living room.
- Paint doors black. Are your doors so drab that they distract from the rest of the decor? Not a problem. Painting interior doors black instantly adds sophistication.
- Install a striking light fixture. Nothing gives a presence to a room more than a classy light fixture. And if you’re on a budget, all’s not lost: Big-box home improvement stores frequently carry a variety of chic light fixtures, without the designer price tag.
