Channel your inner creative

concept - creativity and brainDo you ever have moments of creative genius, then come up short other times? You’re not alone. The good news is there are things you can do to channel your inner creative. Here are a few tips:

  • Don’t be afraid to mix things up. Try a new recipe or project. Even the smallest change in your routine can clean out the cobwebs in your brain and open up creative energy.
  • Never give up. Did that project not turn out as well as you had expected? Try it again. It might take a few tries to get it right, but when you do, you’ll be happy you stuck with it.
  • Seek inspiration. You can often find it on the most unexpected places, whether it’s through a conversation with a a friend or a good book. Look at the world like a child and you’ll constantly be surprised and amazed.
  • Do what you love. It may sound cliche, but if you love what you’re doing it’s going to show in the end product. It may take a few trials to find your niche, but when you do you’ll reap the rewards.
  • Make time for it. We live in a busy world where leisure time takes backseat to the demands of everyday life. Try to allocate 20 minutes each night to write in a journal, draw, or brainstorm new ideas. Do whatever whatever works for you.

Do you have any tips to add? Chances are if they work for you, they will work for other artsy-types.
