The Bomarc A was the first long-range anti-aircraft surface-to-air missile deployed by the U.S. and was designed to intercept slow-manned bombers. The 46th Air Defense Missile Squadron was the first Bomarc squadron — organized in January 1959 and assigned to the New York Air Defense Sector at McGuire AFB in New Jersey. Come see ours!
