Whether it’s from recruitment troubles, market fluctuations, or ordinary person-to-person conflicts, stress can be a big part of any multi-level marketer’s life. But dealing with it can be easier than you think. Have you ever heard of diaphragmatic breathing? This easy technique could truly change your life for the better.
Diaphragmatic breathing consists of contracting your diaphragm (a muscle located just below your chest) while you breath in through your nose into your stomach rather than chest.
This type of breathing fills your lungs, slows your breathing rate, and instantly helps you relax. The best way to practice is by placing one hand on your stomach just below the ribs and the other on your chest.
Take deep breaths through your nose, and as you inhale, let your belly push your hand out while keeping your chest still. As you exhale through lips as though you were whistling, you will feel your hand go down. Use the hand on your belly to help you push all the air out. Repeat this process around 3 to 10 times a day and experience the calm.
Stress and anxiety are no match for diaphragmatic breathing because it stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which automatically slows your cardiovascular system and relaxes your muscles. In doing so, it stimulates internal organ blood flow and allows more oxygen to circulate through your body. The increase in oxygen and blood flow all but guarantee that you’ll become more relaxed.
Unlike most mental tricks designed to alleviate anxiety, this technique is almost too easy to mess up. All you have to do is breathe.
Try it. It’s a breeze.
