Thanksgiving Day shopping activity hit a record high this year, according to the National Retail Federation. And extended holiday shopping hours have been a hit with consumers in December – so much so that retailers are staying open even longer this year than in 2012.
What’s behind this new retail trend? It’s simple: More shoppers in recent years have said that their work schedules often conflict with traditional store hours. Shopping on Thanksgiving Day, early in the morning and late at night in the weeks before Christmas is one way busy Americans get all of their holiday shopping done!
