Clean eating
is about consuming food in its natural state, or as close to it as possible. Eating clean is not a diet, but a lifestyle which focuses on leading an improved life through on meal at a time. Remember: the number one rule of eating clean is to AVOID PROCESSED FOODS.

How to eat clean:

1. Understand labels.
Since eating clean revolves largely around food preparation, its important to know what is in the food that you’re buying. Clean foods contain just one or two ingredients (not including spices), and foods with a long ingredient list are typically man made an not considered clean.

2. Go organic when possible.
Since organic food is more expensive than regular food, it is not always possible to have an entirely organic diet on a tight budget. Do your best to make your dairy, meat, and egg purchases organic whenever possible.

3. Consume 2 liters of water a day.
We all know that water is essential in helping our bodies to function. Water will curb cravings, and more importantly, help your body to do its job!

4. Eat healthy fats.
Eating clean is not a diet free of fats, in fact consumption of fats is encouraged as long as they are healthy fats with essential fatty acids. These good fats can be found in food such as almonds and avocados.

5. Cook your own meals.
Cooking your own meals is one of the best ways to ensure that what you’re eating is as pure as possible. After all, you’re responsible for what went into it. Use simple, flavorful ingredients to make meals that your family will love and feel good about.
