During the 1990s, the idea of Change Management as a school of thought was all the rage. Research, books, studies, management practices, training programs, ideas related to change and how to manage and measure it; they all had a hay day in their time. Looking back at the ideas that came from those years, there is a tremendous amount of value that was created for organizations everywhere as a result.
But in today’s workplace, it’s important to realize that there is more to change than just, well, change. Much of what was offered to help organizations manage their way through
change focused on process improvements, business systems, organizational structure and strategy. While these areas were (and are) critical to any business’ success, most change management programs fell short of truly creating value and accomplishing goals by missing one key element of change: People.
It is our belief that separate from organizational change and process change, “people change” is where new ideas and initiatives really take root. In the past, change management has been focused strictly on the organization. This is where Red Tree Leadership is different. We focus on people, and as your people begin to change, your organization will inevitably follow.
