Go Green With Park City

Contemporary livingroom with green couch and modern lamp- renderingPark City is a ‘green’ place to live. And we’re not only talking about beautiful mountains and lush meadows.

ParkCityGreen.org, an online community resource provided by the Park City Municipal Corporation and The Park City Foundation, aims to educate residents about ways to embrace ‘green’ living as well.

Here are several tools that can help new residents acclimate to our green way of life:

Footprint calculators
This isn’t a shoe store! Rather, it’s a free toolbox estimating how much carbon and water you use; how much solid waste you generate and recycle; how you can cut back your environmental footprint; and how you can teach your kids to live responsibly.  Just walk through simple surveys and get practical advice for a fresh start!

Ways to Save
Under “Ways to Save”, pick a category—business, for example—and get a small library’s worth of content about subjects including business recycling, energy efficiency and water efficiency. There are also tips for certain kinds of businesses such as hotels and restaurants (think biodegradable to-go containers and green certification). We’re excited to have your new business in Park City!

Kids Zone
You can go green no matter how young you are. This website section features green games, facts and figures, a sneak peek of ways in which other youngsters are doing their part around the world and tools for teachers. Have fun!
