How reliable are predictions of the future? Actual scientists (not wackos) are searching for evidence that time travelers may exist among us. Researchers at Michigan Technological University are conducting an Internet search. Their aim: See if any secret time travelers out there have revealed future events. If so that foreknowledge may pop up on social media channels.
Scientists at Michigan Technological University wanted to see if they could catch any such slips by those as yet invisible residents of the future. They presented the results of their study on January 6, 2014. It undoubtedly triggered memories of that beloved movie persona, Marty McFly, the star of the Back to the Future cinema franchise.
In fact, in the real world social media has never been more important to moving properties. In the cinematic fantasy, time travelers were invisible. (Face it: We don’t really know what a time traveler would look like, if we even saw one.) But we do know social media today makes a business much more visible than those old-fashioned print-based campaigns of the past.
One reason for that enhanced visibility is the feedback a property owner receives on how many prospects are viewing the listing or emailing or commenting on a specific property. Instead of waiting for weeks to see what happens with the marketing of a particular listing, a tech-savvy approach to moving real estate yields hard data. That means you don’t have to guess what’s in the future, and you won’t need that time machine after all.
