Did you have a chance to stop by the Philadelphia Home Show this year? If you’ve given any thought to renovating, home shows are a great way to check out home improvement trends and learn about products that can save you time and money! This year’s show really reinforced the idea that inexpensive and DIY-projects can go a long way to making your home more enjoyable — and easier to sell!
Here’s what we gleaned from our visit to the show:
Your front door matters. A new coat of paint and new hardware on the front door can go a long way toward making your home look new and modern.
Today’s light fixtures can work wonders. Light fixtures have come a long way in recent years. One new, affordable light fixture can help dramatically brighten and update a kitchen or bathroom.
Plumbing fixtures add a touch of elegance. Some of the newest styles in kitchen and bathroom faucets can provide a much-needed upgrade to two of the most important rooms in your house. New shower heads can dress up your bathroom and help you save on your water bill.
Hardware really counts. Can’t go all out and remodel your entire kitchen? Installing new cabinet handles and pulls can provide an upgraded look.
There’s always a less expensive way. Another big lesson from the home show? Giving your home a fresh look doesn’t have to be a budget-buster. There’s always a budget-friendly version of what you’re trying to accomplish. Don’t have the funds for new kitchen cabinets? Painting your existing cabinets or installing new cabinet doors could be a great alternative. Installing a backsplash can make a big difference, too! And don’t forget that a fresh coat of paint in any room can make your entire home look cleaner and brighter!
