Fashion fixes for when you’re sick

8080232_SUnfortunately, most of the fall, winter, and spring months are often referred to as “flu season.” If you’ve been unlucky enough to come down with a bug in the last few months, then you know just how hard it can be to try to look your best while you’re feeling under the weather.

Chills, coughs, body-aches, stuffy nose, headaches and fevers are all things that can get in the way of you looking your best – or even just normal while you’re sick. While it’s recommended that you stay home from work or school while you’re contagious, here are some tips for looking good when you finally do have to return to the office or class.

Layered Knits
Layers will be your best friend when battling the flu. Layer up for when you get the chills, and peel the layers away if your fever shows back up. Big chunky knits, beanies, circle scarves, and knee high socks are all trending right now, and are wonderfully functional.

Neutral Makeup
Putting on makeup can be a challenge when you’re sick. With all of the coughing, sneezing, and watery eyes, you could have black mascara running down your face if you choose to stick to your normal routine. If you can’t go without makeup, consider using neutral colors, waterproof or clear mascara, a tinted moisturizer, and some medicated lip balm. These items will keep you feeling comfortable, and looking good.

Your favorite travel mug
Travel mugs can be an awesome fashion accessory. Opt for your brightest, most bold travel mug and fill it up with some hot tea with lemon. You’ll look awesome while carrying around your prettiest mug, and the tea will help to decongest those sinuses.

A comfortable shoe
The last thing that you want to worry about while you’re already feeling down is aching feet. If you need to dress up for work, consider a comfortable convertible heel such as Camileon Heels.

A large, fashionable tote
You won’t want to leave home without your essentials. Don’t forget to bring cold medicine,  tissues and a decongestant! The best way to carry all of these with you is in a large, chic tote. Oversized totes pair well with layers, and will complete your look.

Keep these tips in mind for the next time that you’re feeling under the weather, so that you can look good while getting back to your healthy, happy self!
