Think of all the used disposable flip-flips your salon throws away. You would probably fill a whole landfill with a year’s worth! Did you know there’s a better way to discard these?
TerraCycle is making it easier for salons to be a part of the solution with its recycling program. Salon management can complete a simple signup form to participate. Then they can start collecting the items in exchange for Old Navy coupons. When the box is full, the used items are sent to TerraCycle. According to the TerraCycle website, “for each qualifying shipment of flip-flops, you’ll be rewarded with a coupon for a FREE pair of Old Navy flip-flops plus 25 additional coupons, each worth $10 off your purchase of $40 or more.”
In addition to the coupon rewards, there is also the good feeling that comes with doing a good thing. The flip-flops will be recycled into materials to construct playgrounds, park benches and bike racks. Mother Nature will thank you!
