Max Lillie owned the Lillie Flying School in Chicago and trained many pilots who became leading flyers in aviation’s early days. He was killed in 1913 at the Galesburg district fair when his wing collapsed as he was making a turn. You can learn more about Lillie and other aviation pioneers at our museum.
