Though incentives have been coming in for shoppers to purchase brand new cars, used may actually be a better bet. Thanks to year-low prices on used cars and manufacturers increasing the lasting value of their models, consumers are finding ever more bang for their buck with used vehicles. But those aren’t the only reasons why now might be the right time to buy used – more than ever.
With new models coming out in just a few months (if not already), older version of the same cars are dropping in sticker price. Add in a lengthier shelf time (thanks to a drooping transportation economy), and that number dips even lower. Those willing to be flexible on make or model can save even more. For instance, Volvo, GMC, and Chevy are among “cheap” brands this winter, while Honda, Toyota, and Lexus are sticking to higher numbers.
