Looking for a way to make exercise fun?

Let’s face it — not all of us actually enjoy exercise. And for some of us, going to a gym is just not an option. So how are you supposed to get any exercise? It’s a very convenient excuse, we know. But there are ways around it. Exercise doesn’t have to mean an hour on the treadmill at a gym surrounded by lots of other sweaty people. It can actually be enjoyable. Health Magazine outlines some fun ways to burn calories without the gym. And who knows, you might actually enjoy them!

Inline skating. That’s right. A blast from our past! Inline skating can burn up to 425 calories in 30 minutes. Just be sure to wear knee pads, a helmet and wrist guards in order to avoid injury.

Running. Running outdoors provides scenery for distraction. You can work on your glutes, legs and core and can burn well over 300 calories in a half hour if you run at a steady pace.

Hula hooping. Yep, it’s considered an exercise activity now! Bust out your hula hoop withGrandmother and granddaughter at a park hula hooping and smiling the kids around and hula hoop away. It’s fun and the whole family can do it. The same is true for jump roping.

Tennis. You don’t even need a partner; just find a flat wall to hit the ball against.

The idea is to find an activity you don’t mind doing for at least a half an hour at a time, three days a week. You can do it!
