
Forbes magazine has released its 2013 ranking of the Best States for Business, highlighting states with strong economies and business-friendly environments.
Topping this year’s list is Virginia, which is No. 1 for the first time since 2009. The magazine lauded Virginia for its strong incentive offerings, business-friendly government policies and diverse economy. No. 2 is North Dakota, which has had one of the strongest economies in the nation for the last five years.
Utah is No. 3, with its strong job growth, pro-business climate and energy costs that are 29% below the national average. North Carolina and Colorado rounded out the top 5. Nebraska is No. 6, followed by Texas (No. 7), Minnesota (No. 8), Washington (No. 9) and Georgia (No. 10.)
