(INSTAGRAM) Pain as a concern in vasectomy reversal

If pain is a concern in deciding vasectomy reversal, know that it varies between individuals and partially depends on the type of procedure taking place. During the procedure itself, your pain should be fully controlled after the numbing medicine is applied. Following the procedure, in most cases, pain will be slightly more than the original vasectomy, usually requiring a few narcotic pills and over-the-counter pain meds as treatment. In cases of more complex reversals (particularly epididymovasostomies), you may require narcotic pain medications for several days. With either procedure, pain should be controllable though. Pain begins to improve as early as 3 days after surgery, although some residual, occasional pain may occur even several months after surgery in some cases.
