
In the market for a new home? Grab your iPad or iPod. Home buyers are increasingly using mobile devices in the search for the perfect home. Real estate-related activity on tablets and smart phones has tripled over the past year, according to a new survey by The Search Agency, a global online marketing firm. Activity on computer desktops? Not so much.
In its latest survey of home buyers, The Search Agency found that most people are still using a desktop computer as a tool in their home search on weekdays. On weeknights and weekends, however, smartphones and tablets rule as home buyers and their Realtors visit homes, compare properties, check out school districts, take notes and photos and evaluate options.
What types of apps are tablet and smart phone owners using? Apps using GPS coordinates relayed by the user’s smartphone are increasingly popular. Realtor.com Mobile for the iPhone, for example, provides iPhone users with a mobile version of the Realtor.com Web site. Want to know more about this trend?
