The world’s weirdest pizza toppings

We like toppings, and lots of ‘em, but this just goes too far!! Apparently, at Pizza Huts in Japan — and Japan only — there exists a shocking monstrosity of a pizza.

“The crust is made of hot dogs wrapped in bacon and rolls of molten cheese,” writes Asylum.com. “The center is built with hamburgers, cheese rolls, sausage, bacon, ham, bacon bits, mushroom, onion, pepper, garlic and tomato sauce. The pie also comes with two toppings — ketchup and maple syrup — and a world of shame once you’re done.”

Asylum.com did us the gag-inducing favor of documenting the world’s strangest pizza toppings in this slide show. You’ll see pizzas topped with fried eggs and even squid ink (wait, did we read that right?) You’ll become acquainted with a pizza that combines grapes and pickles, and ones that feature marshmallows and cheeseburgers. You’ll even be introduced to a $1,000 pizza topped with six, yes six!, varieties of caviar. Bon appetit?

If you want a genuinely delicious pizza — no frills or gimmicks — stick with Pie Five Pizza. You won’t be sorry! We’ve got countless toppings and none of them are squid ink!
