Paul W. Tibbets…509th Composite Group

Did you know the U.S. government did not officially acknowledge that the 509th Composite Group trained at Wendover until well after WWII? The commander of the group, Col. Paul W. Tibbets, Jr. would pilot the B-29 Superfortress  the “Enola Gay.”
