Don’t give him one extra buck!

Realistic American Uncle SamUncle Sam was a grump back in 1920 and little has changed! In these days of straining budgets, it’s inevitable that taxes will only go up. Those inevitable tax increases might give you a case of the ‘grumpies’ when April 15th rolls around. Why give the government one more dollar than you absolutely have to?

The problem is simple: A federal tax code way too complex for the average taxpayer to understand. Tax forms aren’t exactly easy for Joe Taxpayer to decipher, after all. (What were they thinking when they designed those forms and instructions?) And those friendly IRS web-based portals may be seeded with invisible snares that can cost you money in missed deductions and even possible penalties for underpaying or inadvertently under reporting.

Don’t count on the IRS to calculate the best refund you could have received, if you had used a professional tax preparation firm.

If you erred in Uncle Sam’s favor, it might mean little more than a corrected tax return down the road. But what if you miscalculated the tax on your return and overpaid? In the best-case scenario, your tax refund will be delayed. Worst case? You may be out the money and not even know you overpaid!

What’s the bottom line on your tax dollars? Keep more of them in your pocket and out of Uncle Sam’s. Let the big guy be grumpy and keep more of your hard-earned money.
