Still wondering whether your business should have a presence on social media or a mobile enabled web site? If you operate in Utah, you can’t afford not to!
Just check out this new Census Bureau report, which names Utah as the No. 1 state for Internet access. According to the bureau, only 7.5 percent of Utah residents age 3 or older did not have the Internet available to them in their households in 2011. That’s significantly lower than the national average of 15.9 percent.
Utah is No. 1 by a significant margin. The second most-connected state is New Hampshire, where only 8.9 percent of residents age 3 or older did not have the Internet available to them in their households in 2011. No. 3 is Washington (9.1 percent.) The least-connected states are Mississippi, (26.8 percent) New Mexico (21.7 percent) and South Carolina (21.6 percent.)
There’s more: In Utah, many people take ‘connected’ to a whole new level. Nearly one-quarter of residents are considered to be “highly connected,” meaning that they access the Internet on multiple devices, including home computers, laptops, smart phones and tablets. Utah also has a high rate of people who shop on tablets and smart phones, clip mobile coupons and utilize mobile payments!
