We’re bustin’ myths about carpet!

So you think you have your carpet all figured out? Think again! Some of the most popular myths about carpet and its care are definitely worth exploring. Here are some common carpet myths we’d like to dispel:

  • All carpet cleaning is equal: Don’t assume that carpet cleaning machines you can rent or buy will have the mojo to make your carpet as clean as can be. These machines tend to leave behind water, creating moisture in a place you don’t want it to be – deep inside carpet fibers. When water goes in, you need to be concerned with how it will come out. Moisture in carpet fibers can lead to mold and the eventual demise of the backing. Soapy residue may also be left behind, causing even more damage to flooring fibers. That’s why we use EMPOWERED WATER™, enhanced water that is electrolyzed and oxidized to create a powerful cleaning solution without harmful toxins or chemicals.
  • Vacuum occasionally: We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but experts from the Environmental Protection Agency actually recommend you vacuum your rugs not weekly, but daily. While a vacuum a day seems a world away, it may be the most effective method at keeping carpets free of daily dust and debris accumulations. If it isn’t at the top of your house cleaning routine, consider caring for your carpets as a high priority in order to keep the air and your floors free of dust.
  • New means clean: Don’t automatically assume because your carpet is new that it doesn’t need to be cleaned. Once soil can be seen, the damage is already done. Those dirty mircrobes are munching on your carpet fibers, causing them to break down. But maintaining a youthful carpet can be easy with some consultation and planning with professionals.
Phew! We feel better now that we’ve cleared up some of those myths. We love carpet too much to let those myths remain!
