Avoid a red carpet meltdown at home

Celebrities in Tinseltown will work all their lives for a chance to strut their stuff on the red carpet. But it’s not so flattering in your home. You may know the scenario all too well… Friends arrive. Adult beverages start to flow. And then you hear those dreaded words: “Oh no. It just slipped.  Can you get me a towel?”

Of all the naughty beverages circulating through the crowd that evening, it just happened to be the dreaded, red-headed glass of mirky Merlot. Scary. But here are some helpful tricks that will help your fears to fade as quickly as the stain.

  • Just blot it — The key is to attack the stain before it can seep into the fibers and do serious damage. Blot up as much of the liquid as possible.  Don’t fret when you see red. Rid yourself of the stain ASAP.
  • Household help — Head to the kitchen, mix two cups warm water with a little dish detergent and white vinegar.
  • Use a clean cloth to sponge the stain while gently blotting.  The stain should disappear, but your guests will not.
