Ties and socks are always nice necessities to get for Christmas. But it isn’t too late to get add some golfing gifts to your Santa List.
If you’re having a hard time deciding between a new set of clubs or lessons to give you an entirely new game, here are some other ideas from Forbes golf contributor Larry Olmsted that might be worth considering for fun.
• Tin Cup Stencils: These metal concoctions allow you to personalize your golf balls with college logos, an Irish Shamrock, Skull and Crossbones, animals, planes, adult-beverage containers, lightning bolts and other symbols for $20. Custom designs are also available.
• Taylor Made Ghost Putters: Putting guru Dave Stockton, Jr., told the writer he recommends this putter ($160-$200) because it features the four elements he considers ideal: 4-degree loft on the putter face; a face insert; microgrooves to get ball rolling faster; and signature white color on the face, which helps with vision and confidence.
Then again, if function is more important than form, you might also consider asking for a good travel bag, new shoes or even the “Rolex World’s Top 1,000 Golf Courses,” which only costs $35 in its second edition.
Of course, you could always ask for those much-needed golf lessons. Or a golf getaway. And new clubs. And a membership to that country club …
