- Think ahead: Often times these remodels are happening on top of our day to day lives. Think ahead about living in a construction zone and factor in your calendar for the coming weeks. Try to plan a time when it will have the smallest impact on your schedule.
- Put away the family jewels: We’re not suggesting that there is potential for possible theft, but we do want you to recognize that a home renovation puts your home into a unique state of chaos. With power tools, ladders, cords, protective sheeting, and so much more, you’ll want to ensure your valuable fixtures, furniture, and accents are well protected.
- Speak up: Contractors can produce some amazing work, but they won’t know exactly how you feel about it unless you tell them. If you find something along the way that surprises you, or something that you don’t favor, mention it as soon as possible. You don’t want to get to the end of a remodel and have something become permanent that could have easily been fixed before the project was finished.
