For many of us, the bathroom is a sacred place. We spend a large amount of time there, getting ready for our day. If you have kids, bath time and helping them reach the sink is important. But, if you are a single and business-minded, a more streamlined shower and sleeker countertops could be the only thing on your mind. When planning your bathroom remodel, try to take the following into consideration.
- Who are your remodeling your bathroom for? Do you have five children all under age 10? Durable sinks and countertops, a large bathtub and non slip tile is what you need. But maybe you are remodeling your room for guests. You want them to feel special, so a steam shower with built-in shelves might be on your list of wants. Whoever you are designing your bathroom for, think it through and plan out exactly what you want and need.
- Decide what you need to hire a contractor for. While you may be able to paint your walls and pick out your fixtures, building a new bathtub or shower is something you will want to hire someone to do. Unless you have a background in contracting, hire out and be glad you did. You will save yourself some much time and stress if you leave it to the professionals.
- When you do pick out your fixtures and finishes, think about your users. Stainless steel will likely attract lots of children’s fingerprints. Rather than going trendy, go durable and classic. These looks will last you much longer.
