The cold season is here, which means the potential for snow, sleet and ice. Winter storms can wreck havoc on homes, roads and businesses. Snow can present a hazard driving. Ice storms can knock trees down and the electricity out. It can put a damper on life, and be especially dangerous if you’re left unprepared.
Be ready for anything by creating a winterized tool kit for your home, office and car. Keep a flashlight with extra batteries in every location. It’s also a good idea to store non-perishable foods and a portable phone charger. Make sure you always have a first aid kit and drinking water.
Keep your car stocked with a blanket, jumper cables, a rope for towing, windshield scraper, and a seat-belt cutter/ glass breaker. A shovel and/or cat litter can also be helpful if you get stuck.
At home it’s a good idea to keep extra fuel on hand or to have another fuel source. Be sure to stay stocked on all necessities.
