Planning ahead for your holiday promotions has never been more important. Why? This shopping season is five days shorter than the typical year-end holiday.
With only 26 days between Black Friday and Christmas, preplanning your signage displays is crucial to extracting every retail dollar you can while shoppers are opening those wallets.
Consider these three tips for making the most of this shortened shopping season.
1) Heavily promote those in-store events. Shoppers will be in a buying mood, but if they are visiting your store for the first time, it may be a bit of a challenge to read your storefront lettering amid the hustle and bustle of passersby. Remember that temporary signage is ideal for luring shoppers inside your shop for those late-in-the-season promotions.
2) Brighten your storefront with LED lighting. String colorful lights to create a framing effect, and then shout out your message in glowing, energy-efficient lighting. These marketing workhorses yield a great return on a shopkeepers’ investment. If you go with generic holiday lighting, you can reuse them next year.
3) Sidewalk signage. The great thing about sidewalk signage is the immediacy of your message. Consider placing A-signs in front of your shop, framed in bright LED lights. Use switch-out boards so you can vary the message. Adding flashing lights boosts your signage visibility. You may not have considered sidewalk signage during the winter season, but it’s worth the effort to brush off the snow and give those shoppers a shout-out.
