It’s the time of year that we are reminded of all the things we have to be grateful for. However, many times it’s not things, but people that make all the difference. That’s why it’s always a good time to take a minute to show them how much they’re appreciated.
There are a variety of ways you can show employees that you care. Really, any small step toward showing your appreciation will create a better work atmosphere and more dedicated employees.
It’s important that employees don’t feel like invisible robots, in a doom and gloom office. Lighten up the office with some random acts of kindness. Small gifts and incentives are also appropriate. If you’re not sure what to get your employees, you can always keep an assortment of different items and allow them to choose what they want. You can also do a fun game, where you incorporate fake money, and have them earn for different initiatives.
You might also try having pizza parties, a catered lunch, or a special breakfast. Make a point to celebrate birthdays. If you have a large number of employees, you can always celebrate all the birthdays in the month at once.
Want to provide a feel good incentive that costs (almost) nothing? Try giving employees an extra ‘Thank You” by allowing them to go home early the day before a holiday, or maybe even on a Friday.
Bring some fun to the office, and show employees you care. It may cost you a little now, but the benefits are priceless and more than make up it!
