Buying a home? Here’s what you can expect

The-house-on-palms-at-the-man-and-the-woman-450x288In the market for your first home? Here are some of the most common steps involved in most home purchases:

  • The offer.  I recommend you go to a lender and get a pre-approval letter before you start to look in earnest. Once this is taken care of, you’re ready to make an offer on the home of your dreams! When your offer is approved, your lender will now begin further processing your home loan request. I can help ensure you are making a reasonable offer through techniques such as a market evaluation of the homes in the area.
  • The inspection. A home inspection is not required, but highly recommended so that you don’t run into any unpleasant surprises after you move in.

  • Final loan approval. After processing your home loan and verifying the information you provided during the pre-approval process, your lender will decide whether to provide final approval to your home loan request.
  • Legal paperwork. Once all your conditions are removed the next step is to get all the paperwork to the lawyer. He or she will ensure all liens are paid, title is transferred into your name, the real property report is reviewed a number of other things are completed to make sure everything is done properly on possession day.

  • Closing day. That’s the last step to taking legal possession of your new home! As your Realtor, I will accompany you on a final walk-through of the property to make sure everything is the way it’s supposed to be.
