Yes they’re bright and colorful. Yes they can smell delicious and brighten your mood like nothing else. But did you also know that flowers have a language all their own? Flowers can send messages and convey specific meanings you never even thought of. 
Who knew right? You can say “I love you” and “leave me alone” all in the same bouquet! And if you really want to get technical, sometimes even the color of flower you choose can send a message. Throughout history flowers have had many uses. Whether it was to send a secret message or for medicinal purposes, flowers have been used for practical uses.
When you send someone a beautiful bouquet of flowers, most of us aren’t thinking about what these particular flowers are saying. We usually go for a color scheme, or a seasonal look, or even just a dollar amount. But what if we put a little more thought into what we’re really trying to say with our bouquet? For instance, how many of us love lilies? Well be careful of the orange lily because it can mean hatred and distrust. Yet the Calla Lily can mean beauty.
So the question remains, is this really a thing? It’s confusing to be sure and while it seems that most flowers have a positive message some still have a sly way of expressing negative emotions. What’s also confusing is that depending on where you’re looking, the same flower can have opposite meanings. Like lavender! In one place it means distrust, while another claims in means love and devotion.
So what does this all mean? Well it means that if you send someone flowers they’ll probably smile in delight, savor the fragrance, and devour the card. If your card says the right thing, then we’re guessing the recipient isn’t going to head straight to Google and search for hidden meanings!
