How to make your billboard advertising campaign into a huge success

When designing billboards, making a memorable first impression is key. Here’s a few no-nonsense tips to help make your next billboard campaign a huge success:

Make it BIG. This one should be obvious, but it cannot be emphasized enough. Your ad must be readable from the road!

Make it simple. Resist the urge to over-complicate advertisements. It’s a billboard, not your life’s story. While you may feel the need to outline every service your company offers, your audience doesn’t care, nor can they process more than one idea a midst their day to day worries.

Make it evergreen. Billboard space doesn’t come cheap, so consider the lifespan of the content. How long will the ad be visible? The last thing you want is to advertise an event or sale that has already come and gone.

Make it interesting. Roadside advertising serves one purpose for your audience: relieving boredom. Give your viewers a reason to look, and entice them with vibrant graphics or a great deal. Faces can also be surprisingly effective since we as humans are naturally drawn to them.

Make it relevant. Your audience isn’t just a cluster of cars driving past! They’re unique people with individual needs.  Research the community in which your billboard will appear. Learn about the demographic who will see the ad and craft your message accordingly to receive a better return.
