Halloween is almost here and everyone is getting ready for the holiday season!
Before the scary fun descends on us, it’s good to remember that germs are out there snarling, plotting and waiting for us! Admittedly, that might sound a bit sensational, but you get the point.
Unless you’re living under a cardboard box, you’ve probably heard at least one of the “germs in Halloween masks” news stories. While some of these are bit hyperbolic, it’s still important to note that the science is solid: germs ARE being passed along by way of Halloween masks.
Halloween masks aren’t the only culprits either. Costumes are just as guilty of spreading germs from one person to another.
What about those heavily trafficked candy aisles and frequently touched buckets of candy your kids enthusiastically stick their hands into? Those are chock-full of germs too, which, by the way, can live on surfaces for up to 48 hours.
The point of all this is not to scare you, but to remind you that germs abound, and are indeed passed around on this spooku holiday. Just because we can’t stop these germs completely, doesn’t mean we can’t all do our part to protect each other. Have a great holiday season, just make sure to wash your hands, and be wary of the invisible enemies that abound while you’re at it!
